The Schools on the Campus

The buildings of several municipal upper secondary schools are in need of renovation in the coming years. A utilization study commissioned by the Canton of Zurich's Building Department identified the "interim use of Campus Irchel" as the most practicable and cost-effective temporary use option for the respective duration.

Interim use will start in summer 2024 and end in summer 2033. The schools using the space will change every three years:

• Kantonsschule Zürich Nord (2024–27)
• Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliches Gymnasium Rämibühl and Realgymnasium Rämibühl (2027–30)
• Kantonsschule Enge and Kantonsschule Freudenberg (2030–33)

The school wings are located in buildings Y12 (level E only), Y32 and Y34 (whole building each). The schoolyard is located between buildings Y32 and Y34. The school wings are accessible via a main entrance (Y13, level H) and a secondary entrance (Y12, level E).

The general classrooms are located in building Y32.
Building Y34 houses the special rooms for science as well as art and design lessons. The offices of school administration are also located in this building.
Building Y12 level E houses the school canteen with its own kitchen.

Next to the existing ASVZ Sports Center, a temporary sports facility will be built to be used by the schools.

The house rules of the respective schools apply to the areas rented by the schools. The rules will be adapted to the situation at Irchel.
